Fits: 94-2000 BMW F650 Funduro/Non-fuel
injected models and the Aprilia Pegaso/Pegasus.
PN. F650-1.0 Lowers the rear 1".
PN. F650-2.0 Lowers the rear 2".
F650-2.0 lowering links shown below

1. Raise the motorcycle with the center
stand or milk crate, etc., so the rear wheel is just slightly off the ground.
Remove the 19mm nut that holds the lower end of the links to the rocker
and push the 12 mm allen headed bolt out the left side. You may have to
lift up on the rear wheel slightly to allow that bolt to slide out freely.
After removing this bolt, block up the rear wheel until the tire contacts
the rear fender.
2. Next remove the upper right link
mounting bolt by loosening it from the inside with a 17mm box end wrench.
Pull down on the link while rocking it back and forth to remove the link
from between the swing arm mounts. Now remove the upper link mounting bolt
from the left link by removing the 17mm outside nut and pushing the bolt
in. Then remove the left link the same as you did the right. Note: "The
left upper link mounting bolt cannot be completely removed unless the right
link mounting bolt is removed first". Before installing the new links be
sure and grease both link bearings and the one on the rocker that is still
located on the bike. *(None of our BMW links come with the center
race/sleeve, but can be ordered either from us or from BMW for $6.00 each.)
3. Now that the stock links are
removed, install the Kouba links in reverse order of the removal of the
stock links. left side first, big end up, with the engraving to the outside
and the grease zerk facing forward. Then push the mounting bolt through
the upper mount from the inside, install the 17 mm nut and torque to approx.
20 lb-ft. Install the right Kouba link, big end up, engraving to the outside
and the grease zerk facing rearward. Then screw that mounting bolt in from
the inside of the upper mount and torque to approx. 20 lb-ft.
4. Lower the rear wheel until the
small end link holes line up with the hole in the rocker and install the
allen head bolt from the left side, install the 19mm nut and torque to
approx. 30 lb-ft.
5. The F650-1.0 KoubaLinks will
lower the rear 1 inch and the F650-2.0 KoubaLinks will lower the rear approx.
2 inches (slightly more than the OEM lowering links) Do not slide the front
fork tubes up in the triple clamps more than necessary, as on some models
the fender could get damaged from contacting the horn or the bottom of
the triple clamps. Sliding the fork tubes up less than the full 2 inches
is preferred.
